Living at Kimber has been a fantastic experience. The staff are super friendly. The communal areas are perfect for socialising.
Stayed at Kimber and had a great experience. Any maintenance request was handled within 48 hours, and the agency were helpful throughout the tenancy. The contract was explained clearly, and I felt well-informed as a tenant. I received my full deposit back with no issues.
Moving into student halls is a big part of the uni experience—messy kitchens, group chats, and lasting friendships included.
A classic choice for freshers, student halls bring you close to classes and new friends—though you might want earplugs for the noise.
Student halls offer an energetic environment. While privacy can be limited, the experience helps build friendships and independence.
For first-year students, halls are a top pick. Affordable, social, and located near campus, they’re a solid intro to university living
Kimber Student residence is one of the modernised accommodations that Solent university offer. It has a nice social area where students can study and socialise. Rooms are fairly spacious and bathrooms are a bit small but nice inside. It’s closer to the university (10 min walk). For the price this accommodation is very overpriced and isn’t worth the money.
Kimber residence was nice to love in. Great views, the accommodation team were great and everything was reasonable.
Kimber Student Accommodation offers a modern, clean, and secure living space ideal for students. The staff are friendly and responsive, and the location is convenient, close to campus and local amenities. Great communal areas and facilities make it a comfortable and social place to live.
UniHomes sounded great at first, but the reality was a bit disappointing. The house we got wasn’t in the best condition—things were worn out, and it took ages to get anything fixed. Even though bills were included, the Wi-Fi was unreliable, which was super frustrating during deadlines. Communication with the letting agents was slow, and we felt like we were constantly chasing them. Overall, it felt like we were paying too much for the lack of quality and service.
Kimber Student Accommodation is very, very good—modern, clean, and super convenient. I enjoyed my stay here.
UniHomes has been a pretty decent option for student renting, especially if you’re looking to live with friends and keep things simple. Having bills included in the rent is a huge bonus—it saves arguments and makes budgeting way easier. The houses themselves can vary a bit in quality, but ours was clean, cosy, and in a good location near campus. Communication with the letting agents was alright, though it sometimes took a bit of chasing to get things fixed. Overall, it’s a solid choice for students who want the freedom of private renting without the hassle of managing bills.
Kimber has a common room with a TV screen that’s easily accessible. However, i feel like the activities available in the common room it’s very limited putting off the residents from actually using the common room more often.
Kimber Student Accommodation is excellent—modern, clean, and well-located. It is quite pricey, but the quality, comfort, and convenience make it worth the cost.
Kimber Student Accommodation is very, very good—modern, clean, and super convenient. The only downside is the price; it’s quite expensive, but you get great quality and comfort in return.
Modern en suite rooms, great location, fast Wi-Fi, and helpful staff—perfect for focused student living and meeting new people for those students moving away from home
Kimber is a nice accommodation that fitted to all my needs. I had enough space to bring my PC in and set it up for my studies.
Kimber is spacious and meets all the needs for your first uni accommodation. The kitchen is large and i have all the space to do my initial work.
First of all the contract linked with this accommodation allowed me to pay off the rent in line with my student finance payments taking a lot of stress away from making sure I had payment for it. The living standards and leisure areas were also up to standard and allowed for ease of stay.
Modern rooms, great location, fast Wi-Fi, and helpful staff—perfect for focused student living and meeting new people, I really like the common room, but it’s not used often
Kimber hits a good balance between having a decent social vibe and a calm atmosphere. The building isn’t the newest, but it’s well-maintained and the rooms are a reasonable size. A lot of students say it’s one of the better Solent halls for making friends without being overwhelmed by constant noise. You’ve got good access to local shops, and it’s not far from the uni or the city centre. The kitchen areas are pretty standard, but they get the job done. Most people feel like Kimber gives you a classic student experience—good mix of independence and community.
My experience at Kimber Accommodation, part of Solent University, was unfortunately less than ideal. While its location is convenient for accessing the campus, the living conditions left much to be desired. Though the staff were generally friendly, their response to concerns was often inadequate, leaving me feeling overlooked. Overall, my time at Kimber Accommodation was disappointing. While it has potential with its location and facilities, the lack of proper upkeep and support significantly impacted my university experience. I wish I had chosen a different accommodation.
Kimber student residence is one of the better student accommodations that Solent University provides. It is the most modern one out of all. Residence team were reasonable with fixing problems. However the price for this accommodation is overpriced students financial status need to be considered.
This was one of the better accommodations I stayed at, from the rooms to the kitchens to the common room, all was of a better standard which made the stay a lot more pleasant
It is kept in great shape but the use of only first years makes it so In first year the people who went out would be loud at 3 am keeping me awake. And the price is a bit steep for first year university.
Very helpful and easy access to the agency. The process is simple and very sorted. Close to shops uni and gym.
The Solent University doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the cleanliness and room size for a little bit extra compared to other accommodations
Kimber was simple but effective. I had enough space for all the things i needed for uni and the social spaces were top notch.
room size is good, en-suite bathrooms are small and not very nice. some kitchens are good, some of them aren’t as up to date. In Kimber there is only one common room, which is ok, but no one uses. laundry room is small and busy. cleaners are good but grumpy, management is varied, some staff are nice whereas others are quite horrible.
Kimber is a nice accommodation, within a close proximity to the uni. Furthermore it is quite accessible to bus links.
Kimber Student Residence provides modern en-suite rooms with essential amenities and is conveniently located near the main campus. While some of us students have raised concerns about kitchen sizes and noise levels during student nights, the overall experience appears positive, supported by a range of facilities and a dedicated residence support team.
Great location, just a short walk from campus and local shops. The hall feels safe and secure, which gave my parents peace of mind. I’ve made lifelong friends here and the community vibe is amazing!”
I’ve had a great experience living at Kimber Student Residence. The location is super convenient, especially for students – it’s close to campus, local shops, and public transport. The rooms are modern, clean, and well-equipped with everything I need to feel comfortable and productive. One of the best things about Kimber is the sense of community. The staff are friendly, supportive, and always happy to help with any issues. There are also regular events and social opportunities that make it easy to meet people and feel at home. The building itself is secure and well-maintained, with good facilities like study areas, laundry rooms, and common spaces. Overall, Kimber Student Residence offers a great balance of comfort, convenience, and community – I’d definitely recommend it to any student looking for quality accommodation.
All rooms were fully refurbished with en-suites and kitchens of large size fitting 9-10 people. Only a 5 minute walk from the university was required and was probably the best out of the student accoms however it was the most expensive.
Kimber has a great accommodation that provides an en suite studio and classic en suite rooms and in terms of kitchen size it’s can fit up to 8-10 people which is ideal if you want to start making friends.
Kimber Student Residence is by far the best Solent accommodation with the nicest rooms, the best communal areas, very close to the student hub, it is the closest solent accommodation to the University. All rooms have on suites but the only flaw is the price but for a deluxe price you get a deluxe living experience.
Kimber is a great student accommodation, especially for those who have just started university, it’s very spacious and the rooms are really nice.
Kimber University offers a unique and enriching experience for students looking to expand their academic and social horizons. As a student at Solent Southampton University, I’ve had the opportunity to interact with peers from Kimber, and I can say that their commitment to academic excellence is evident. The faculty is knowledgeable and approachable, fostering an environment where students feel supported in their studies. The campus itself is vibrant, with plenty of resources available, including modern facilities and study spaces that cater to diverse learning styles. Extracurricular activities are abundant, allowing students to engage in various clubs and organisations that enhance their university experience. Overall, Kimber University stands out for its dedication to student success and community engagement. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a well-rounded educational experience.
Kimber is a nice, clean student accommodation for Solent Students, and I personally feel it’s the most aesthetically pleasing one provided. I like the layout of the accommodation and of the common room on the bottom floor.
Kimber student residence was nice to live in, but was quite dear in price. The rooms were not as large as I hoped, however, the en suite was premium.
Kimber rooms are decent sized with an en-suite, good desk space and wardrobe space. Sometimes the kitchen can get a bit messy and not tidied very well by the cleaners. The rent is a bit high for a very standard room which may be a bit off putting for some people. Overall Kimber is decent but nothing special.
The maintenance team were really quick and responsive to any issues I had and when moving in, the room was easy to move in to and the team were very helpful and friendly. The room was an adequate size and the bathroom was spacious too. Overall, a great experience.
I recently stayed at Kimber, and it was a fantastic experience. The room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was especially comfortable, ensuring a restful night. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect, with easy access to local attractions and transport options. The overall atmosphere was peaceful and inviting, making it a great place to unwind. I would definitely recommend Kimber to anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient stay.
Easy to move in and good rooms. Negative- get fined if others leave the kitchen messy.
The moving process was quite simple. In terms of the sizing of the room, it is not massive but quite spacious. Maintenance of the building itself is quite good; however, the kitchen is often messy as it is a shared kitchen.
Easy to move in, good rooms although not massively big, they come with en-suite. The downside of of kimber is shared kitchen which people can end up leaving dirty and we can get fined. The price compared to what it is, is actually high for a student accommodation which doesnt help students with their day to day lifes and living costs.
Like it says in the title, it was decent, but nothing special though.
My stay was pretty ordinary for the money spent, it met my expectations.
My stay at Kimber met all my expectations The 24/7 security made me feel safe during my stay.
I quite liked kimber, the floor space in the room I was given was more than adequate, and the en suite was of amazing quality
Close to the uni, 5 minutes/10 minutes walk from the centre and the university. Great pricing. The accommodation is greatly supervised and furnished.
Kimber is safe, modern, and friendly—great location, helpful staff, and a real sense of community. Highly recommend!
The university accommodation was disappointing and not worth the price. My room was cramped, poorly ventilated, and the walls were paper-thin. Shared spaces like the kitchen and bathroom were often dirty and rarely cleaned properly. Maintenance requests took ages to be addressed, and staff weren’t very helpful. Overall, it felt more like surviving than living, and I wouldn’t recommend it to future students.
Very clean and worth the price. Gives a nice self vibe with space allowing you to choose to socialise or keep to yourself
The accommodation is regularly maintained by the letting agent, has 24/7 security and allows for proper safety
For everything that’s included—location, amenities, security—it’s actually great value compared to private renting. Zero regrets
To start off, not a lot of this went wrong in this accommodation. I personally think it’s one of the best in terms of rooms and the actual look of the place. It is also very close to the main hub, so any problems that do come up can be quickly resolved once you go and speak to them. They have a term-by-term payment scheme that relieves the pressure of payment.
Building renting is good as it has staff members available to sort out any problems and also interactive aswell.
Has a security system being operated 24/7, which makes me feel safe wherever I am within the vicinity.
The Good Stuff: Super Close to Campus: Probably the best part. I could roll out of bed 20 minutes before a lecture and still make it on time. No long commutes, which honestly saves a ton of time and energy. Bills Included: You don’t have to stress about sorting out Wi-Fi, electricity, or water. It’s all bundled into the rent, which makes life a lot easier when you’re already juggling deadlines and trying to survive on instant noodles. Social Life: If you’re new to uni or the city, living in student halls makes it easy to meet people. There’s always something going on—whether it’s flat dinners, random kitchen chats, or pre-drinks before nights out. Security & Maintenance: Most places have decent security, and if something breaks, you just report it and they sort it (usually pretty quickly). No awkward calls to landlords. The Not-So-Great Bits: Kinda Pricey: You do pay more for the convenience. Some places are seriously expensive for what you get, especially private-run ones. But I guess that’s the trade-off. Noise: You’re living with students, so yeah, it can get noisy—especially on weekends or during party season. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Shared Spaces: Not everyone’s going to clean up after themselves, so shared kitchens and bathrooms can get gross if people aren’t respectful. It really depends on your flatmates. Strict Rules: Some accommodations can be a bit over the top with rules—like limits on overnight guests or not being able to put stuff on your walls. It’s not the end of the world, but it can feel a bit annoying. Final Verdict: If it’s your first year or you’re new to the area, I’d say go for it. It’s easy, social, and takes away a lot of the stress of adulting. But if you’re looking to save money or want more independence, renting privately might be better later
