Southside were great at maintaining the property and were quick to solve any issues that we faced during our tenancy. Their communication was excellent. Highly recommend.

Southside were a very good letting agency during my tenancy there. The process in acquiring the flat was extremely easy as all the referencing and guarantor checks were all completed very easily. Maintenance issues were resolved more often than not extremely quickly, however a complaint I would make would be when there were leaks or water issues on the Friday there could have been more urgency in fixing the problem before the weekend, as the big push came from myself. Overall, all maintenance issues were fixed and solved in really good time.

Furthermore, another aspect that made Southside a good letting agency was there aid when we were looking for a new flat. They tried to assist us in finding a new flat due to circumstances changing for us, although it didn’t end up happening there aid was really appreciated.

The moving out process was reasonably easy, with us retaining almost the full deposit only being deducted for a carpet burn. I would say we were a little bit hard down by for being criticised for having dust present when we had vacated the flat for a couple weeks.

Overall, we had a good experience with Southside who I feel are a reliable and trustworthy letting agent to use in Edinburgh.

Whilst the flat we were staying in was lovely, over the course of the year we had a number of issues. This including us spotting damp and it taking until the roof fell in for proper action to be taken. We were compensated but rooms were out of action while repairs took place and this could’ve been avoided. This situation could’ve been more complicated if we weren’t fortunate enough to have a generous landlord who was upfront with upgrading and redoing the flat. We secured our full deposit back. I would recommend Southside in terms of general process but when it comes to major issues they tend not to act appropriately.

Recently took up a short term flat let with Southside. We were on a very last minute schedule and had a couple of tough flat experiences before then, which Southside were very accommodating of. They gave us a single consistent point of contact, straightforward move-in and move-out paperwork and responded efficiently to any issues that came up during our tenancy.

Southside Property Management have been really good to deal with throughout our tenancy. Whenever we had any problems or maintenance issues, they were always quick to respond and get things sorted, which made everything much easier. Communication was good and we felt that any issues we raised were taken seriously and dealt with promptly. At the end of our tenancy, the deposit process was also straightforward and fair. We received almost our full deposit back, and they were reasonable when it came to general wear and tear rather than charging us unnecessarily for small things that naturally happen when living in a property. Overall, we had a really positive experience with Southside. They were reliable, responsive and fair throughout our tenancy. We were happy enough with our experience that we have chosen to rent with Southside again this year, and so far our experience has continued to be positive. I would definitely recommend them to other students looking for a letting agent in Edinburgh.

They communicate everything very clearly (feedback from flat checks, tenants rights, required repairs…). Never had any large issues with the flat but letting agency & landlords are very attentive to the smaller issues we’ve had.

After having Southside as our agency for the past two years, we have built a great relationship with them and feel as though they look after their properties and residents attentively.
