The flat we rented was not maintained well before we got there. There was leftover suitcases and things left by the previous tenants that we had to clean out ourselves, as well as a broken chair. We contacted the letting agent about this among other things such as the lights not working on some days or the toilets being blocked randomly and they would take several days to respond to us. We were also not given a sufficient amount of keys from the onset and regardless of how many times we contacted them, this was never resolved. They did inspect us regularly which was good, but wherever we passed on concerns to the inspectors we were never contacted about said concerns. At the end of the tenancy, we were not given our full deposit due to someone who had left the tenancy earlier due to extenuating circumstances not emptying their room properly. This however should not have taken up everyone’s deposits to clean up but we were unable to properly dispute this as several tenants were experiencing a variety of difficulties.
in general this year Grahame has been a pretty good landlord. the house was in pretty good condition when we arrived and everytime weve had an issue he has responded to our texts quickly and got someone round to have a look within about a week at no cost. the one thing that we have had issues with is his notifying us of his arrival or a workman coming in. weve called him up on it and it seems to be sorted, but in first time it was beginning to become a bit of an annoyance and invasion of privacy (as well as illegal). however, hes been a great landlord and would happily live in one of his houses again.
great
all issues were resolved swiftly
My experience with student accommodation at Newcastle University has been good and I haven’t had any problems or issues
Slow to respond and act on information/requests, didn’t follow documentary regulations and generally unprofessional.
Helpful in the process of finding a new house, but then all rest was done by landlord.
Letting agents were sound and easy to organise but house rent is far too expensive
Easy to use and helped a lot. Definitely could be more attentive with contact with landlord and help with issues.
Not amazing quality but it’s good value

The letting agents have been helpful mostly when there have been major issues at the house. Usually reponse to issues and repairs are within a week. They werent entirely transparent about ongoing issues with neighbouring houses before we moved in.
