Hive Estates Reviews – Student On Letting Agents

The staff member that helped me was very kind and helpful, they answered all my questions that I had no problem, highly recommend.

They do not look after clients, and a long waiting time to solve any problems you might have with the letting agency

The estate agent is all right, the customer service from letting agents is pretty good but had some issues. First while looking for rental properties they kept on showing properties outside my groups budget. Once we found a rental property, in first 2 months the maintenance was prompt, but after that often it took weeks to months for anyone to show up and have a look at things and maybe fix them. Sometimes they would mark issues as maintained even though no one showed up to fix them. Had to call them up sometimes about the issues but once the call was made things would get resolved fast. Beyond that they are pretty decent and letting agents and maintenance people are really friendly.

Hive estates were good and easy around letting us keep our property for a second year. It was relatively easy and they were good at communicating.

They weren’t very quick with getting back to us about any problems and it took a while for a course of action/timeline to be established for any issues we had. However they did always pick up the phone and were never difficult to get ahold of which is an issue I’ve had with previous lettings agents so there is that at least! Emergency documents and sheets of phone numbers etc which were left in the house when we moved in turned out to be incomplete and cut off after the heading surrounding electrical issues, which we only found when we went to find said number to call as we had a power cut. We tried going via northern power grid, but they said it was an internal issue and so would need to be dealt with through the letting agent. The power cut/issue was on a Saturday after Hive’s opening hours and so we then weren’t able to get ahold of anyone until Monday which was not ideal, all due to the small details such as making sure the whole document was there not being seen to.

Lovely property , poor maintenance and response time.

We have stayed with this letting agent for a second year because of how well the service is. The staff are lovely and always happy help with any queries. The location of the house is perfect for a student and the rent is fairly priced. The lettings agents are quick with respond to any maintenance issues we have with the house!

Hive Estates have been fantastic throughout our tenancy I would recommend them to any student in Newcastle.

The house was nice when we came in but did have a mould problem which has been fully sorted after numerous calls with them. Issues do get fixed but we usually have to ring them a few times to get them on top of it and they do sometimes say they will call back with an update and just don’t reply.
