I previously rented a flat through DJ Alexander. They were slow to reply to emails, repairs – upon replying it was very slow to actually get anything done or sorted. They also often emailed to say rent was late when it was paid on time.
If you ever got through to them on the phone they were helpful and always nice

When we moved in, the flat had quite a few problems that really should have been sorted before we arrived. Once we reported them through the online portal, most things were fixed, but it often took a few weeks, which was frustrating.

Communication was alright overall. Sometimes we had to chase them for updates, but it wasn’t too bad.

They didn’t go through the contract with us. They just sent it over to sign, so we weren’t given any explanation of our rights as tenants.

We’re still in our tenancy, so I can’t comment on the deposit yet.

Overall it’s okay but not great. It would be a much better experience if properties were checked properly before tenants move in and repairs were dealt with faster.

This agency was great at maintaining this flat, they were quick to solve all problems I had and very helpful when we had to get in touch.

The overall joining process at the beginning of the contract was very easy with straight forward forms to fill out etc. However, there were several problems in our contract. First of all on collection date they did not turn up at the correct time leaving my flatmate stranded. Then once we had access to the flat it was quite dirty. We raised this issue as the flat was ordered to be cleaned before our arrival but this never happened. Further on in the year we had several problems with our boiler which was a brand new installer before our tenancy. The response time on emails and issues raised were quite poor and left us waiting a couple of weeks until a contractor was sent out. Additionally, they were not much help with mouses either. All in all a pretty slack job which could’ve been done better. Overall feeling was getting treated poorly because we were students maybe.

The property was in pretty good condition when we moved in, however it could have been cleaner in terms of dust and a few stains on the carpets. The washing machine stopped working shortly after we moved in which was a bit of a hassle but DJ Alexander were able to provide a contractor to come and fix the machine relatively promtly. In terms of an issue we had with the flat they were resolved pretty quickly and effectively. The deposit was however a bit of an issue as we felt the flat was in the same condition as when we arrived however we did not receive our full amount.

Over the course of my first year of renting, DJ Alexander were quite poor in most aspects in helping us. Some of the things that we experienced during out tenancy was the keys not being delivered on time for us to move into our flat, the flat not being cleaned and having items of previous owners still in the flat, many problems with our boiler dropping pressure over the year even with a brand new boiler – having to contact them every time to report an issue took quite a long time especially to send out a contractor. When phoning in to report an issue it felt like people talking down on us because we were students and thinking that we did not understand what to do, for example we we bled all the radiators in our flat before a contractor came to sort out our pressure but it still did not work. Then talking to the letting agent they were saying we must have done it wrong, almost talking down cause we were students. Overall, not a good experience.

Well maintained met requests at a satisfactory speed, never encountered any problems during the tennancy

Nice flat, they play very good house music. Boiler is not working and no one can fix it but we dons mind a cold shower now and then. Tbf to dj Alexander they reply quick

This letting agent has no communication between itself and clients. They are impossible to get in touch with and are very impersonal. Do not recommend due to such difficulty to use.
