The landlord has hidden Google reviews to try and hide numerous awful reviews from previous tenants. We had nothing but problems renting a flat with this landlord. Please don’t make the same mistake. The other poor reviews are by no means coincidental, there is a clear running theme. We moved in and the house was filthy, with dirt, dust, hair and mould all over the bedroom doors and walls, with one of the mattresses having an enormous patch of black mould underneath. This was just the beginning as all rooms experienced problems, with clothes and bedding needing to be thrown away due to mould. We were contractually obliged to run the heating for a minimum of 5 hours a day, even when away for holidays, as well as having to run a dehumidifier for 12 hours a day to prevent huge damp spots appearing on walls. As a result you will spend a fortune on bills. The workmanship was poor, we experienced an entire cupboard falling off the wall of the NEWLY refurbished kitchen, trashing our kitchen crockery and trays, but could have also caused a serious injury had someone been cooking at the time, with replacements of broken belongings or mouldy clothes/bedding having to be replaced out of our own pockets. The accommodation is designed to cram as many people as possible with little space and underground basement rooms experiencing little to no light, and is still expensive. All of these problems and we were still forced to pay an extortionate cleaning bill which was significantly more expensive than if we had been allowed to book with the same cleaner ourselves. We accepted cleanliness issues with the kitchen and very small bathrooms, but with bedrooms being left in a better state than we had received them, the bill was hugely unreasonable. The landlord was constantly aggressive and petty, blaming us and not accepting the poor condition we had received the property in. He was extremely rude, unaccommodating and unreasonable in the end of tenancy discussions. If you are prepared to pay hundreds in extra heating bills, unbothered by the health hazards of living in a damp, mouldy accommodation, and are prepared to lose unreasonable amounts from your deposit then this is the landlord for you. We have loads of photos to show everything I have mentioned in this review, and are happy to back up everything with proof.
