appliances kept breaking, couldnt get repairs in convinient time, too overpriced for what you get out of them
Stayed in same house for 2 years for convenience. Citylets were good at stay, then lacked in communication. The house is a bit f**cked anyway, but so many mould issues, leaking issues into a bedroom from above bathroom. Toilet and bath clogging issues where water would come back up into bath. They attempted to fix and worked for a while but after they didn’t believe us that it wasn’t fixed and now we cba just waiting to leave !
Lived here for 2nd and 3rd year, was fine until they stopped replying and helping and saying the things we said was wrong wasn’t true
Toilets bathrooms showers been such an issue. We have two bathrooms but one has been left out of use whole of 2nd year. Just doesn’t seem to get fixed. Cleaners come every now and then which they introduced recently but they never ever tell us when they are coming why or what they’re soon. People just let themselves in and turn up. I was in shower one time. It’s annoying and rude to be honest
Plumbing was rubbish. When we moved in we found out from previous tenants there was leaking issues and only took a month to see this happen. The eventually fixed this after a year as we rebooked. The second year, one of our 2 bathrooms was completely out of use as it leaks everywhere and comes up in bath. (Gross)
took almost half the year for them to fix a leak that was going from the shower above my bedrom, into my wardrobe and through the ceiling onto my bed. the sealing on the shower was so old and they fixed it multiple times. only reason im giving this more than a 2 is because they compeltely gutted the kitchen over the christmas break, so mustve spent a lot of money on it however the bathroom itself has no windows and a broke fan so mould constantly grows on the ceiling
landlords were always useful and dealt with faults and complaints in a timely manner. but i think this is depdant on the landlord
Fixed loads and loads of stuff which just says a lot about the state of the house considering it’s still in a shambles. Damp issues all year round never a solution just temporary fixes. One of the guys came round and got a bit passive aggressive saying we were lying and all and pulling up invoices to fix things but that was his first communication In 3 months so!
Feels like every week there’s something new with this house. Replaced washing machine, tumble dryer, kettle, hoover, microwave, resealed windows, showers that leaked, out of use toilet that smells so bad
We’ve had a lot of work needed doing, and the works take a long time to happen. We’ve stayed on for a second year and the issues continue to persist.
They take ages to come and fix something sometimes if it’s severe, but I have had a leaking ceiling from the shower for ages and all they did was give us a bag to put down. They also show up unannounced, but we do have cleaners 1 a month now. They are okay but they are way better than Unity Lets.
We had a rough start as our house had numerous issues and they either didn’t respond or when they did it was unhelpful. The problems were things that all should have been sorted prior to moving in. It is difficult to get a reply we have had to send numerous emails. However they have been helpful and did communicate after numerous emails.
Not really had any problems with the house, but when we did someone was sent out immediately. Have rebooked for another year with them.
Our house this year has been a mess- Bed bugs initially as we moved in, which the letting agency didn’t sort with urgency nor check or treat all of the house! We had many issues when we first moved in to the house including- old mattresses, faulty appliances, untrue statements such as all rooms provided with mattress protectors which was untrue, damp and mould issues, broken bed, hole in kitchen walls and broke fridge and freezer shelves. As we were just moving in it was appalling considering it should have been checked prior to us moving in. With constant pressure we got the majority of these issues resolved even though the letting agency considered them ‘minor issues’. These are not all of the issues we have had this year so safe to say it’s been a bit of a nightmare!
Been a nightmare- continuous issues throughout tenancy even from start of lease. Huge amounts of issues from moving in which took a lot of pressure to try rectify
In my house, we experienced a number of maintenance issues, ranging from bed bugs to a leaking bedroom ceiling and mould. We alap had issues with our fridge and washing machine. Although Citylets did address these problems, they responded slowly and while keeping you in the dark about how, what and when they were sorting these issues. To get problems sorted, I often had to send multiple follow-up emails or visit the office in person to get a response. I would not go with Citylets again.
I have been with City lets and they are extremely slow to reply to all of my requests and when they do the effort they put in is minimal. I would recommend to stay away from them at all costs!!
There has been no issues that have risen, although they are absent in my experience on the property. I have a housemate that got his pots pans taken by the cleaners though…
Lived in the same house for 2 years. Very easy and hassle free when continuing tenancy into my second year in the house. Lack of communication when it comes to re-booking. Had an issue last year where they didn’t tell us one of the rooms was already filled, we weren’t notified till after we found someone. Slightly annoying when they ask for rent weeks in advance to the date stipulated on the tenancy agreement. Notify when us via email when there is viewing however the times can often be unsociable timings, as well as despite notifying us they don’t even come half the time. Issue this year regarding my pans, the cleaners came in over the summer and removed them. City Lets wanted all items in 2 cupboards in the kitchen, this was not possible do to how little room so they were left neatly out of kitchen as we were instructed “anything left in the kitchen not in the cupboards would be removed”. Lack of accountability and ownership from City lets when confronted despite it being there fault. However they weirdly appeared on the door step 3 doors down a week later, but heard nothing from city lets. Despite this no real issue don’t here anything from them.
When I was looking for a property city let’s were very responsive and helpful in the search, the property I rented was in good condition. However when the washing machines and tumble dryers had issues in the shared utilities room they were not quick to address this. When I moved out they tried to retain my deposit despite providing no evidence of damages or cleaning required this led to them sending me final notices, once I provided evidence of videos of how I left the property and requested invoices for work done they quickly dropped the claim and returned my deposit
Properly was as described on a basic level. Estate agent who showed us round told us everything we wanted to hear and then when we moved in denied what they had promised. Landlord deals with everything himself and is lovely but as letting company wouldn’t recommend.
They were very slow resolving any issues in the house, especially mold problems. At the end of the year they went into my room without permission for ‘essential work’ and only painted the walls in the bathroom, went through my draws and ripped stuff off the walls. When I complained via email they ignored me but when I complained in person they said they’d seen my email and not replied. When they eventually replied they tried to blame me for the damages they caused and charge me until I came back with proof and they gave me a full refund of my deposit.
City lets were excellent when I rented with them a few years ago. Our boiler broke over Christmas and someone came over pretty much straight away to have a look even though it was out of main office hours. It needed a new part which was ordered and installed the next day before I even woke up. They were also very quick at responding to emails
Bloody rubbish. Ceiling caving in and still haven’t fixed it after 6 months of notifying them. Would not recommend- cannot even contact the actual landlord. They never reply
2 year tenancy – so bad at responding and communicating. only good thing is the landlord who did everything he could. easy fixes were done switly, otherwise lack of communication left us without essential ammenities
They are pleasant but won’t get rid of the cockroaches
nothing to complain about at all.
nothing too special but its affordable!
Citylets is a good agency, often quick at responding and good advertisement/houses
love it
the best letting agents because they provid good service and good homes
They have been great
Amazing!
good house of a good size but lacked furniture when we moved in and dodgy boiler and electrics
The letting agents are very slow to respond to questions and emails if they respond at all. They also look to charge at every possible opportunity.
Do not recommend. Very difficult to get them to deal with issues and honour the contract. Faulty items were given and then tried to get us to pay for new ones. Continuously turned up with new potential tenants without warning us. Also sent men to the house for maintenance and such without warning and was told about inappropriate comments being made. Lastly, when leaving they tried their best to get as much money out of us as possible for tasks such as painting which wasn’t completed when moving in and new mattresses which was heavily used when arriving.
Citylets were not able to comply with written down contract agreements when we first moved in with them. They took a good few months to eventually grant us something that we had agreed on in the contract. After this, what they would provide to us, was poor, second hand quality furniture that barely lasted. When we first moved in, each room had stated to have had a deep clean, despite the fact we found sweet wrappers behind furniture. Overall, Citylets was poor and I would not recommend them.

A+++
Great provider would recommend
Good prices but awful service and response to issues.
On the whole pretty good, any problems have been fixed quickly. Picking up keys at start took a while due to sheer amount of people- maybe give out time slots in the future. House missing some useful bits of furniture
Nice house, however, when we arrived there wasn’t furniture in 2 of the rooms.
