Chancellors Headington Branch Reviews I Student Letting Agents – WhichPad

Good communication, they sent us the contracts immediately and asked us if we had any questions, however personal information from everyone had to be filled out on one document

When we moved into the house, there was the previous tenants belongings left behind. Mould under my sink, needles in the garden, used forks in other tennants bedrooms. Since then, we have had it all moved after we had emailed. The location is really good, near cowley road in the student hotspot. Chancellors themselves have been helpful in communicating with us about our monthly rent outcomes. Overall; the reason for such a low rating is due to the disgusting state the house was left for us to move into. Apart from that, everything else is going swimmingly.

When given the keys to our house in early September, the house was not given over in the best standard, it was clear the property had not been inspected or professionally cleaned when we were told it had been. We have good communications with our landlord and some of these issues have been resolved. The location of the property is good for student living, close to Cowley Road and Headington for Oxford Brooke’s students but more communication with the letting agents would have been key to helping with our issues at the start of the tenancy as we are worried about not getting our deposit back even though the house was not given to us in a good state.

We chose our house as it suited for the amount of people, however when we moved in the house was full of other people’s belongings, mold, broken beds and walls. We called chancellors and most of our parents got blocked, completely ignored or hung up as soon as they heard our house number. We have now discovered that none of the pipes were done properly so our whole downstairs bathroom has to be torn out and it has caused damp issues into the kitchen as well and we still have some other peoples belongings. I do not recommend.

Was all okay at start, house was messy when arrived, lots of issues with housing, extractor fan fell off the wall and broke the hob and the shower was installed incorrectly and flooding and the toilet was clogged. two of those issues got sorted quickly but the shower is still out of use. only have one bin outside for recycling, no black bin, still haven’t given it to us so having issues with taking rubbish out

They were very helpful when we had any questions and everything was simple and easy to do. They made it very clear every step of the way.

The letting agent worked well with us in finding a property. They helped us find a good home, and the property was very nice and well maintained. Although everything went well, they took a while to facilitate the contract sign-off and return the holding deposit.
