Responds pretty quickly and sends over help; however, fixes are usually temporary solutions, meaning there is always more stuff going wrong.

This letting agency is pretty good at responding to requests. The property is not without its issues but communication and problem solving are speedy and efficient.

All information from contract to how to be informed and maintain the house was given. They answered to all questions and offered supper whenever needed.

The house was well maintain and well priced and the landlord is really nice.they also reply to emails really fast and get issues stored out really quickly.

Good experience renting through Bristol Student Lets. They were quick with maintenance issues and our property manager was very nice! The house itself had a couple of issues, leaks ect but most was solved pretty quickly.

Our letting agency was genuinely so helpful throughout the year. Whenever we reported an issue, repairs were arranged quickly and dealt with efficiently, which made a huge difference to our experience in the house. They were always responsive to messages and kept us updated, so we never felt ignored or left in the dark. They were also really understanding and supportive whenever we needed help or had questions, which made renting much less stressful. Overall, their professionalism and willingness to sort out problems promptly made the whole process smooth and reassuring. I’d definitely recommend them to other students.

The agency are very good at making sure the house is well maintained and have alerted us at any points where they need to do work or anything like that. They have been very helpful whenever we have needed anything or have any concerns.

Our Contact for the property, Amy, has been extremely helpful and attentive when it comes to any issues with the property. They replaced our hob when it was broken, our lock and fixed other problems quickly after they were reported. I have no complaints about Bristol Student Lets and Amy has been amazing!

Very helpful when we went in. They didn’t have many properties available, but we gave them a description of what we wanted and how many people we were and they sorted out emails that would send us notifications as soon as a place that suited those criteria was listed on their site. We took the first one that was sent to us after a quick viewing and were very pleased.

overall were a very poor letting agent, we have had silver fish and ants in the building and the initial state of the flat was very poorly cleaned meaning we had to put in a lot of work to sort out the cleaning, they are good at responding to maintenance issues overall, but a large number of problems were poorly dealt with.

After talking to friends who all let from different letting agents, got the impression that ours is neither amazing or terrible. Everything got done all year but could have been a bit quicker and easier to deal with in general.

“Whilst the idea of the uni run lettings agency is good, and if you get a property with them your tenancy rights are better protected, it is very hard to get a property from them in the first place. Their email system doesn’t work properly and their first release of properties was very poor. “

The manner in which Bristol SU release their houses is really bad, releasing them all at once on one day, so a massive queue forms outside the lettings building from 8am that day and nobody gets the house they really wanted. As far as dealing with them is concerned, it’s alright, they’re just not great at replying, their system is a bit average and all round, it seems like friends have got much better letting agents.

Mark and Machiko are both terrible people. All smiles before you move in but as soon as you’re in they are nasty bullies who refuse to answer even the simplest of requests for contact details. They have more than enough time to lie to you regarding your tenancy though. I could literally write an essay detailing a very long list of their awful and harassing behaviour but I’ll keep it to a simple warning: You will avoid a lot of unnecessary stress if you stay clear of these horrible people. I am currently purchasing a house (which they are making more difficult) so I am in discussions with my lawyer about legal options to deal with the situation.

DO NOT RENT WITH THESE PEOPLE! I rented with them as a professional person, not a student. They charge extortionate fees which they sneak into the contract. Mark Sefton had someone else living in our house for a month after we (and they!) were paying rent on it. I walked in to my house to find another person there! I could not get my deposit back. He would not fix critical issues. Do not do it. As is the person above, I am in contact with a lawyer about these criminals.

I had a number of issues with universitylets: – They wanted me to pick up my key from the previous tenant, but the only time we were free was the day before my tenancy started. When they found out I was going to pick up the keys the day before the tenancy they tried to charge me a day’s rent. I asked if I could not just pick up the keys from them. They stated that I couldn’t do that, but I could call them out to the property to give me the keys for 35 quid. What kind of property agency charges you to get the keys? – A month before the end of my 6 months, after previously stating on several occassions that I wanted to extend the contract, they advertised my room without telling me, and told the prospective tenants to get in touch about seeing my room. When I asked to extend again, they said I could only do that if I paid the same admin fee again that I paid when I first moved in – a few hundred quid. I said no, as the contract states I only need to pay a 35 quid extension fee. They served me eviction papers (to my bedroom while all flatmates were out). Don’t touch them with a barge pole. I’m currently in contact with a lawyer about their behaviour. Oh and they wouldn’t give me an itinerary, proof of a gas inspection, or an EPC as legally required. They are crooks.
