Loc8me Durham – Student Reviews

We signed a 6 man house under Harringtons estate agents in our second year of Durham University. Harringtons were always quick to respond with the issue we had with the house- such as fixing door handles and loose locks. It was a fairly small house for 6 rugby boys but we had no major issues throughout our year with them.

We used Loc8me to find out student house for next year and it was a great experience. We went into the shop in Durham with not much knowledge on what we wanted and by the end of the week had a house sorted. Would highly recommend to anyone sorting their houses next year!

We pulled out of our house contract and didn’t get our deposit back for ages so wasn’t particularly impressed. We did eventually get it back but was a complicated process – loc8 me was not very helpful

Very quick to respond to any issues, usually have sent someone over within half an hour to fix anything. House was very clean when we moved in and they provided mattress toppers too.

Loved living in a culdesac, lovely area, lovely neighbours, lovely garden, bit of a walk after a night out though.

House was maintained really well, and all problems were solved quickly. Respond to emails in good time.

Loc8me was a brilliant letting agency. When the electricity went down on my street and my housemates and I were getting ready for a university ball, we called them and they came in a car, picked us up and took us to the office. They offered us free stuff in compensation and let us use their outlets and rooms in the back to get ready. They went above and beyond. I recommend them.

The flat is located in a great part of the city- right in the town centre, however rooms and kitchen need to be updated

loc8me has been an overall great agency to rent from, and I’d easily give them a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. The local Durham team is incredibly friendly and attentive, they genuinely made our viewings and move-in process so much less stressful. Unlike other student agents who ignore repairs, their maintenance response is impressively fast, and whenever we’ve logged an issue at our place, they usually have someone out to fix it within 24 hours. Managing the tenancy is super convenient too, since we can just use the loc8me Co-Living App to track everything and chat with the team. My only real complaints are that the wider company can feel a bit rigidly corporate and transactional if you ever need flexibility with contract terms or face financial hiccups, and you do have to watch out for their utility policies as they can have vague billing communication. You definitely need to double-check your contract’s utility cap limits before signing. Still, if you want a responsive local team and a modern, app-driven tenancy, loc8me is easily one of the best choices for students in Durham.

House was maintained well and didn’t need any work when moved in. When we required any help or assistance there was always someone available to sort any issues out.
