House Hunt have generally been okay with issues we’ve had in the house. There was a leak and some mould in my bathroom that developed in July before I first moved in, and they took a while to sort it out as they claimed nothing was wrong, but did eventually sort it. We have had some issues with our front door that have not been dealt with and same with our kitchen table chairs which broke upon being sat on and they have said they will not be replacing. However, they are generally pretty quick to reply to emails and on smaller issues with the house they have been pretty good at sorting them. Similarly with House viewings we have nearly always had pre warning of when they were coming round.

Maintenance has been the main issues with severe delays for serious maintenance concerns such as no tumble dryer, no oven and a rubbish infested garden. Promises were never really met which is a shame as they do seem a nicely run estate agents.
When we initially moved into the house it was relatively clean and the interior was modern. There however was multiple things that were broken (oven, tumble dryer, dishwasher, mirror lights, unclean garden with unsanitary rubbish left in it) which had not been checked before we moved in. The house hunt maintenance manager is really poor at his job as we have had to email, phone and even turn up at the letting agents multiple times to get these issues resolved. He continuously told us certain days things would be arriving and would be fixed and these were not done. Often when we have called and had a response from another team member, they seem to have no clue what we are talking about – it seems there needs to be some communication and paper trail for different ongoing issues. Overall with some back and forth these things do get sorted eventually which is necessary.
The renting process is easy and clearly detailed and there is a wide variety of houses available especially for 6 people that have all recently been renovated. The issue comes from the maintenance, whilst most issues do get addressed, it is usually slow and comes about due to constant persistence by those that live there. Many times when multiple jobs have to be done- one gets completed and the rest left to be done at a ‘later date’ that is never communicated to us and when asked on the phone, sometimes they don’t even know either! Not a bad letting agent and it would be better if they could tighten up their communication between departments- they’re slow to fix things but it is our problem when something is broken!

We have had quite a lot of issues with appliances not working. House hunt have got back to us about most of the issues however they are often not that helpful and slow to respond. They will tell us times they are coming to house to check the appliance and then not show up and reschedule it after they haven’t shown. This is frustrating as we have to ensure someone stays home to wait for the maintenance people to come and they don’t show. They did replace our hoover and fix the washing machine and dishwasher however we have had a lot of issues. Some things are still unresolved.
We have had a few issues in our house which have been reported. They have promised to fix these issues saying they will come however they never turn up. Also they have failed to fix a broken drain cover which is a safety hazard and a faulty shower floor. As well as a leaking ceiling and a broken bed.

house hunt were a great letting agents to go through and sign both my second and third year house. We had a few problems sorting out documents but with thorough communication this was sorted with ease.
House hunt are not a good letting agency, and I wouldn’t recommend them! They are incredibly unresponsive with maintenance issues, and when you do get a response it’s nearly always inaccurate i.e. maintenance men not showing up when they’ve been scheduled, etc. I have found with more serious maintenance issues (pest control) they have gone as far as to ignore calls and emails and claim to be out of office to avoid dealing with the problem. This particular issue has still not been resolved after 3 months. They often take action only after you threaten to withhold rent.

We were buying our second year house. They are just a bit useless to be honest. More than one person in charge of sorting our guarenteerer form and tenancy agreement meant there was lots of confusion from them about who had done what, and ended in them threatening to put the house back on the market even after we had all paid the deposit and filled the forms.
House hunt are definitely the best letting agency for student housing. All of their properties are newly refurbished (or look newly refurbished) and in great condition! If we ever have any issues, they reply to our emails almost instantly with a solution. They let us know before we have a house viewing and always communicate well with us as tenants. The renting process is also really easy with house hunt and I’d definitely use them again if I needed a house next year.

we had many issues that were not resolved by house hunt, for example leaks through our roof into lights + across two floors. we contacted multiple times and got told someone would come to look at it but they didn’t. additionally, on 3 occasions people came round for a house veiwing without us being told, when the policy is 24hrs notice.

I’ve had a generally decent experience with this student letting company. Overall I’d probably rate them around a 3 out of 5. The house itself is good — it’s in good condition, comfortable to live in, and generally works well as a student property. We haven’t had major issues with the property itself and it’s been a good place to live. In terms of maintenance and communication, it’s been a bit mixed. When something is clearly urgent, they do tend to deal with it and get it sorted, which is reassuring. For example, if there’s something that genuinely needs immediate attention, they will usually respond and arrange for it to be fixed. However, for less urgent issues it can sometimes take quite a while for things to be resolved, and occasionally they get left for longer than they probably should. A good example of this was the heating, which took a while to be sorted and required some chasing. Situations like that can be a bit frustrating, especially during colder periods. There are also a few smaller things that sometimes don’t get followed up on as quickly as expected. It’s not that they never get addressed, but the process can feel a bit slow at times. That said, the staff themselves have generally been polite and helpful when we’ve spoken to them, and they do eventually deal with most problems. Overall it’s been a fairly typical student letting experience — the property itself is good and urgent issues are handled, but response times for other things could definitely be improved. In summary, a solid but not perfect experience.

You get what you pay for with the house. Very cheap but it’s not a great place to live. Issues with the house in general have not been addressed whatsoever, apart from two instances where there was a massive leak in our kitchen and the heating wasn’t working. The letting agents were very helpful at the start of the tenancy with things such as giving us keys/starting the tenancy. However, they have been very poor since. They regularly fail to help when things have gone wrong such as broken appliances. An example of this would be us having to wait 6 months for a functioning hoover or 3 months for a functioning washing machine. They often make endless false promises and the only way to get action is to walk into the office which is often inconvienient.
